English

English classes are divided into levels according to the language ability of the students and their ages except for the ‘B' or Beginning classes which have mixed ages.

Students under 15 years of age are placed in ‘J' or Junior classes and those over 15 are placed in ‘S' or Senior classes. There are also classes designated ‘F' or Foundation for students with specific learning needs, focusing on developing literacy.

There are four levels for English classes: Foundation Level, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. In these classes, the students are taught reading and responding, writing, viewing, listening and speaking skills at their English level.

At the Beginning level, the students are introduced to basic vocabulary, simple sentences and paragraphs. As they progress through the levels, the students develop English skills through learning about text types such as description, recount, narrative, exposition, poetry and review.
